Flowetry In Motion

These words seep out of the thin midnight and early morning cracks of time in my life. Every day these words release me. Hopefully they do something exciting for you as well.

Too Heavy to Hold On

Bruised egos
litter
below branches of
Insecurity Tree.

Careful where
you step and
where you don't
step
it gets
asinine in this
shady grave
grove.

Defending every
decision
that brought
this rotting
reality to fruition.

Fallen fruit
forsake
the eaten while
withering
away.

I'm usually not a "poetry person" but I really enjoy your writing.

Keep up the good work.

A poet and a stand up comic?

Not that I assumed the two were mutually exclusive, it's just that you don't often find that combination. Not in my neck of the woods, at least.

Your living in the Great Northwest makes me moan with envy. I used to live in Washington State and would go back there if not for familial ties here in the South.

Dissapointment, exhaustion and hurt... I love the imagery that evokes these three in this piece. (rotten, bruised, heavy, defending, grave grove, etc.)

Nice one.

"Defending every decision that brought this rotting reality to fruition" -- this is a great description of insecurity over failure -- a tendency of politicians and -- if we'd be honest -- all of us.
